More Poetry...

After being encouraged by some of my friends, I'm going to post more of my poetry out of my journal. Let me know what you think. None of it has deeper meanings, but I don't think any of it is too bad! :)

Snow

2/06/12

It falls from the sky
lightly letting itself down
onto everything.
The whiteout of nature
it blots out all that is
sharp, pointy, colored.
Like a doughnut
coated in cold flavorless
sugar,
the earth sleeps.
We don't know
until morn breaks
over a frosted landscape
what has stolen in overnight.
We peek out of
our burrows
to be blinded by
the white light.


Clocks

2/7/12

They sit on the wall
patiently waiting for nothing.
Their arms ever moving,
pushing us through our days.
One face
To tell the time.
Three arms
For counting off the minutes.
Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock
The true rulers of the world.


Don't Complain

2/13/12

Who are we to sit by
and whine
about everything we get the chance to?
Is not life the
greatest adventure of all?


Another Light Poem

2/28/12

A light shining through the darkness
Yellow light burning holes
in the veil that shrouds evil.
Spreading an epidemic to the universe
An infestation of goodness, happiness,
Love


Be Yourself

3/05/12

There are eyes everywhere.
They watch, judge, measure
each decision.
You cannot run away,
avoid them.
Then it's, "You're stupid"
"I like your shoes"
"I'm gonna be just like
you when I'm big."
You wonder, "How can I
bear the pressure?"
The truth: You don't think,
you just do it.
The eyes only belong
to biased, prejudiced, opinionated
people.
Who are they to tell you
who to be?
Do what you love and be
yourself.
