So, today I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go for a run... I haven't run since last summer, but I just wanted to do something other than read or play piano for a while. I took my usual route up to our little country church. It's only a little over a mile to get there, but there's pretty good size hills. I hadn't planned in timing myself at first. While I was running I began to think about mile repeats from my XC days, and I checked my watch when when I got to the church. 10 minutes flat. I didn't think that was too bad for an out of shape ex-cross country runner. (Halfway through the run over six months of not running, and the tacos from lunch began contorting by gut.) However, on the way back my competitive nature took over. I wanted to beat my time. I have to admit my playlist timing was impeccable because some of the really pump-up songs began playing towards the end. At the schoolhouse that marks the half way point I was sitting at a little over four minutes, but I still had the huge hill at the end that I ran down at the beginning. To make a long story a little bit shorter, I ended up with a 9:30 split. I am so pumped right now! I would love to run more often, but my crazy schedule doesn't allow time for it. I was glad that I had the ability and opportunity today to prove to myself that I still can run, and not suck it up too bad.
To end, here's a link to one of my running playlist songs. (Mobile Blogger doesn't have a video feature yet.)

The pie-in-the-face pictures get a little redundant, but rainbow Afro guy is pretty neat!

:) Love it.
